Great alternatives - but who has more traffic/users than twitter? The idea is to be heard. If no one is listening, what’s the point?

Nice list! You might be interested in checking out Rolago (http://rolago.com) as well. It’s a group microblogging tool that allows you to create your own private (invite-only) or public networks. You can post to your network via web, email, or SMS.

Discovered http://www.floopo.com its also a twitter clone couldn’t believe that it actually allowed me to create my own site for free,its great so i would not pay.It comes with all the features you would expect but also includes some new very cool features
